2.2 fixed fetching for me, but 'new mail' sound/vibration remains an issue.

I'm interested in finding out how many of you have found that mail fetching is now perfectly reliable but you're still not getting the 'new mail' alert... I did a full restore and found that when the mail account was first reinstated, it chimed/vibrated correctly. However, subsequent mail deliveries are silent. So restoring, unfortunately, still doesn't make it work. The fact that the 'new mail' slider is set to 'on' and 'vibrate' doesn't make it work. Anyone else? 2.2.1, maybe? Anyway, we're making progress, so I'm really happy about that! Macbook White 2.4Ghz   Mac OS X (10.5.5)   500GB Samsung HD, backed up using Time Capsule

That's it? No-one else? Well, if I'm alone on this one, it looks as if I'm off to see a Genius. At least the problem is easily reproducible... Macbook White 2.4Ghz   Mac OS X (10.5.5)   500GB Samsung HD, backed up using Time Capsule

Same issue here. I was elated that the device now checks mail. It is however useless if it doesn't TELL me I have mail! Man this device is starting to **** me off. Resetting the phone fixes it for a few minutes. It seems as if the phone has multiple levels of sleep. A few minutes after I've had it on, new mail notifies me. A few minutes more, and arriving mail does not notify me. It arrives, just very silently, and I have to turn it on to look. Kind of like when it wasn't fetching! Apple is determined for us not to know when we have mail. First they had it not checking, now it's not notifying. If I didn't need to know when I had mail, I'd think the whole sorry thing was funny, but it is not. Apple, you need to get a few of the basics working right. Stop introducing new features until you perfect the first ones! iMac 24" 2.4Ghz 4GB RAM, Macbook 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, iPhone 3G 2.1 (Ack!) -   Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Thank you - so it's not just me! Anyone else? I might not make that Genius appointment just yet, then... Macbook White 2.4Ghz   Mac OS X (10.5.5)   500GB Samsung HD, backed up using Time Capsule

Same problem for me, the fetching worked properly for the first day, but since then, I'm not getting email notifications. I've also noticed a dropped call problem when I never had one before, not sure if this is the Rogers/Fido network here in Canada as I've seen on other boards or if it's because of the 2.2 update MacBook Pro 15" 2.33Ghz   Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Same problem here. It seems to notify me when I am talking on the phone, but as far as any other notification I get nothing. I do not get sound or on my homescreen. Dell   Windows Vista   IPhone 3G 8g

I hope this isn't the case! I had the mail fetch issue and heard it was fixed in 2.2. I have noticed a lack of notifications with 2.2, but the mail is there when I turn on the phone, so I assumed I just didn't hear the notifications. Looks like I'll have to test this...
