Cannot delele email after 2.2 update

Messianni 11-23-2008 13:25:00 Reply
After the 2.2 firmware update, on my 3G iPhone I am unable to delete any email from my Microsoft Exchange configured (IMAP) email account. Previous fixes posted tell to enable a special "delete on phone" feature but I don't have this. I know I'm not the only one with this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having the same issue with my AOL account. Before the update there was a few second delay before the messages would be deleted and now it is instant, however a window appears saying "Unable to move message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash." Then the email i was trying to delete is back in my inbox.   Mac OS X (10.5.5)

I am having the same problem, have you been able to fix it. If so how? This is so frustrating. 3G iPhone

I have an AOL account and this is the fix I used. I don't know about a fix for Microsoft Exchange. Go into Settings->mail, contacts, calendar->your mail account->Advanced->Deleted Mailbox->then simply retap the "Trash" box in On My iPhone. 2.16 GHz MacBook, 2.4 GHz iMac, iPhone   Mac OS X (10.5.4)

I had that problem after installing 2.2 on my phone. When I called the tech had me go to setting and create a new folder under my yahoo account called trash and then check that as my trash. Once that worked we were able to switch back to the original trash can. This is all done in settings under the mail option. But I no longer have a trash can to delete unwanted photos. There is a trash problem the tech said and they are working on a patch. MAC G5   Mac OS X (10.5.5)
