IPhone 3G v2.2 Mail Application & IMAP

i have 2 mail accounts:
one via exchange
one via IMAP
when i delete an email in imap my iphone (now with 2.2) told me that he couldt move the mail to the trash. i found out in the settings that the 'delete-folder' was not specified. after specifying this: it was working.
now: i miss one thing/option: i want to delete a mail and this mail gets MARKED as DELETED on the imap server. i dont want to move that mail at all!
how can i archive this again? in 2.1 this was working without any problems.... iphone 2.2 Other OS

I have the same problem seems to be only on aol for me. have tried restoring the iphone but nothing. i reckon its the updated firmware looks as if we have to wait for apple to sort it out. does anyone have any ideas? Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.5)
