Hi,
I am extremely close to purchasing a 32GB iPod touch or a 16 GB iPhone, but I can't justify the purchase unless it has the ability to somehow connect to a standard-def projector (one that has VGA, composite, no HDMI). How can I display a fairly nice resolution (say, 800x600) through the projector? I understand that the iPhone display is less than that, but I'm just hoping there can be a way.
If it's possible, let me know what cables/adaptors and apps I need to get to make it work.
I'd think maybe it'd involve some sort of VNC software so maybe I can stream the Powerpoint from my home PC? It runs Vista, BTW.
Thanks. Windows Vista

There is a video cable available on the apple store that allows viewing to VGA input devices. Check the specs first to understand your needs. Tethering is an issue in some countries, you need to check that out where you live. I
t seems like a round about way to view powerpoint from your pc though? You can get a cheap second hand laptops that will do the same, no resolution issues there. 20" iMac 1.25Ghz G4 80G HD Mac OS X (10.5.5) iPhone 1st gen iPhone 2nd gen 3 iPods

I actually like how portable the device is, so it's much much easier to carry to where I give my presentations.
I thought "tethering" meant using the iPhone's 3G network on the laptop it is connected to. In any case I don't think it would apply here as I am rather heavily leaning towards the iPod touch, due to the higher capacity, but unfortunately the venue has no/limited wifi access, so I think VNC isn't viable.
Would any others like to chime in with suggestions? Windows Vista

The iPhone/iPod Touch will not do what you're looking for. Only videos and photo slideshows (from the Photos app) are output over the AV cable output. You cannot output a PowerPoint slideshow.
(If you're thinking of Steve Jobs' presentations, that was a specially modified iPhone.) 17" CD MBP, iPhone 3G, iPodTouch Mac OS X (10.4.11) ? since the ][e
