Unlocked iPhone 2.0 has reached Philippines


Globe Telecoms will be carrying the second-generation iPhone in Philippines. Apple Inc.’s latest smartphone is expected to hit the country by September. But the month of July is only halfway done yet there are already several reports that the 3G iPhone can now be purchased in the country. But this mentioned 3G iPhone does not include plans or subsidised prize. Unlocked 3G iPhones are now available in a particular mall in Manila, Philippines.

At Alibaba.com, several people have seen an ad for the second-generation. If the advertisement is real, one may now get a 3G iPhone starting from $1,000 to $1,500 depending on the model that you want. It was posted by the Union Camera Limited. But if you were to read the specifications, think would make you think twice about the authenticity of the product.

Aside from the advertisements at Alibaba.com, there are also several Filipinos who have seen a 3G iPhone from a store called InfoMaxx located at Megamall. The 8 GB model of the 3G iPhone is worth P61, 500. On the other hand, the 16 GB model of the 3G iPhone costs as much as P69, 500. If you were to convert the price of the 8 GB iPhone into U.S. dollar, that’s roughly $1,366 while the 16 GB 3G iPhone is at least $1,544.
